About

Andrew is a professional pianist and currently provides music for a variety of events.  He prides himself in doing whatever the audience calls for.  For example, while preparing for a wedding cocktail hour he learned that the bride loved Disney, which he then included in the setlist.

Professional. Diligent. Driven…

Andrew graduated from Duquesne University Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Music Technology and a concentration in Jazz Piano. At Duquesne University, he has crafted his recording and music skills.   Andrew has had a multitude of leadership experience and has gained a lot of highly transferable skills such as leadership, organization, and communication skills that make him an asset in other areas besides music.  He is also an active freelance pianist; as in the past he has performed jazz in a cocktail setting, as a keyboardist in rock bands, and in a church setting.  Please contact him should his skills meet your demands.

The Beginning

Ever since Andrew stood on the sidelines of a football field watching his uncle’s marching band perform as a child, he has had a craving for music. Andrew began taking piano lessons in third grade and quickly took to it. In grade school, he began to participate in various musical activities. For example, Andrew filled his school schedule with ensembles such as chorus and accompanying the orchestra. Also, he was active in many of the school musicals and enjoyed dancing and bringing his positive energy to the stage. In high school, Andrew was a member of his marching band, where he served as a drum major his senior year. Andrew also was a member of the Eastern Area Youth Chorale for six years. Music plays a very important role in his life.

Let’s Go Dukes!

Andrew began the next chapter of his life at Duquesne University, studying Music Technology- Sound Recording. At Duquesne, Andrew was completely immersed in a world of music and has learned so much. Andrew really enjoyed learning about topics that he is passionate about and tried to be like a sponge and absorb as much information as he could.   At Duquesne, Andrew was a member of the Pappert Men’s Chorale and many other ensembles. He was president of the Audio Engineering Society, a past resident assistant, and involved with a number of other organizations; which helped him become a well-rounded individual. Andrew really appreciates that he was given the opportunity to improve as a musician and to develop his sound engineer skills.

Tickling the Ivories

Playing piano is one of Andrew’s many passions. Growing up, Andrew seized every opportunity he got to play the piano. For example, he played the “Star Spangled Banner” at a PTA meeting in fifth grade. He also volunteered to play background music at a local retirement home. In high school, he had the opportunity to play keyboard in a rock band called JROX. Later, he studied jazz piano at Duquesne University under Ron Bickel, even though he was classical trained. He loves to rock out and brought his energy to sporting events as a member of the Duquesne Pep Band. He is an avid cocktail pianist and has had the opportunity to provide music for a number of weddings and events. Andrew loves to share his music with the world.

All About That Audio

What first sparked Andrew’s interested in the audio world was a class that he took in tenth grade called “Digital Recording.” In the class, students were exposed to the audio world and had a first hand experience with recording by assembling multi-track projects on a Casio keyboard. Interested by the idea of recording, Andrew pleaded with his parents to allow him to purchase his first professional keyboard, a Yamaha MO8. The next year for Christmas he received a Presonus Studio One Artist Recording Bundle, and that is where the audio fire began to grow. Later, Andrew attended Duquesne University to fuel this fire as he studied Music Technology- Sound Recording. Studying at Duquesne has helped Andrew develop many recording skills and he is so thankful for his professor’s guidance.

Future…

Andrew hopes to share his love of music with others.  Please keep in mind for your musical needs.

Have a fabulous day!
